Ken Marold practiced architecture in Rhode Island before moving to New Mexico in 2006. He served as Lead Designer and Job Captain for a variety of project types including educational facilities, government buildings and various commercial and residential projects. He posesses experise in educational design, sustainable design practices, including a solid familiarity with the USGBC LEED Rating System, and ADA regulations with particular knowledge in accessibility standards for children. His past designs have been featured/awarded in publications by Environmental Design + Construction, the Metal Construction Association [Metal Design Award] and School Construction News [Innovative Learning Environment Award]. Fascinated with mixed media installation art, Ken is interested in re-animating 'dead zones' by intervening into purely industrial or mechanical areas and re-igniting a sense of remembrance and life into these spaces that previously had been wiped clean of their residual memory. "Architecture is a catalyst for cultural growth when it embraces opportunities to reflect in itself, a rich and complex present tense." |
