Josh has studied architecture at Rice, Arizona State University, and most recently at SCI_Arc in Los Angeles. He specializes in "generative technique" -- matching design process with the needs of the client, the site, specific context, etc. He is skilled in 3-D modeling, advanced representation, mathematical analysis, graphic/web design, and multi-format drafting.

Josh is particularly interested in spaces that are purposely rendered "useless" to modern society. These provide a design opportunity beyond traditional approach: they allow the application of generative technique as a method [inspiration] to overcome the obstacles of cultural "uselessness", routine, and disregard in a positive manner. Example sites include outdated/abandoned buildings, freeway medians, certain perceptions of childhood, et cetera.
